Chairmans Welcome Dear Guest, Welcome to season 2011 / 2012 and the 16th for West Tynedale Junior Rugby Club. Rugby Union has captivated the minds of both children, and adults, with the success of our England International team. The 2007 squad of course included no less than four local heroes from Newcastle Falcons. Jonny Wilkinson, Toby Flood, Mathew Tait and Jamie Noon assisting a formidable line up as backs. The 2011 World Cup starts on 9 September and rugby will once again be thrust into the limelight. As a club we should develop, and focus, our children’s energy, and enthusiasm for rugby towards the future and benefit of our local, national and international squads. Our youngsters are our sporting future, not just boys, but girls as womens rugby continues to grow and grow. This is my fourth season as club chairman, I am looking forward to the coming year. Rugby is a sport for everyone to enjoy at all levels. Children of any ability, both boys and girls are welcome to join and develop their skills. Above all have fun taking part. Having an interest or, even just curiosity is enough to get started. Last season saw our membership grow once more, which I believe is an enormous tribute to all the hard work put into our club at every level of involvement, from coaching, to organising, to catering, and parents bringing their children here every week. No one is left out! We are a team. Our club relies heavily on your continued support and good will. Finally, to you our many sponsors, an enormous thank you from myself and West Tynedale Junior Rugby Club. The continued success of our club would not be possible without your incredible loyalty and support. Enjoy the season Colin Stewart BACK TO TOPNotes From The Committee Help and Assistance

An important message for all Players, Coaches and Parents - Please read these Players
A good player is a self-disciplined person - stay in control of yourself always. CoachesChildren join rugby clubs to play, but they must also be taught the skills of the game ParentsAccept the referee's decision - without him you cannot have a game.Any form of violence or practice against the laws is not to be encouraged, especially by shouts from the touchline. Applaud ALL goodplay - not just your own team's. Respect the opposition and all authority figures. Remember that youngsters are not there primarily to entertain you or to meet your expectations. Be positive! Give encouragement not criticism. Please remember the game is played for enjoyment. Encourage the children to enjoy themselves, to win with modesty and lose with dignity. Never use unseemly language. BACK TO TOP |
